About CitiObs PMScan
CitiObs PMScan is an iOS application that lets citizens and researchers collect particulate-matter and environmental readings from a PMScan Bluetooth sensor and contribute them to a SensorThings API (STAplus) endpoint used in the CitiObs context.
What the app does
- Connects to a nearby PMScan device over Bluetooth Low Energy
- Displays live readings such as PM1, PM2.5, PM10, temperature and humidity
- Attaches GPS location to observations (with your permission)
- Optionally records Tracks or individual collocated observations on the device
- Uploads buffered measurements to STAplus after you authenticate
Who it is for
The app supports citizen-science and research workflows where air-quality samples need to be linked to a known Party (authenticated user), a sensor, a location and a chosen data license.
Authentication
Sign-in uses OpenID Connect (OIDC) via Authenix. The app uses a single static, pre-registered public client. Each person logs in with their own account; the client identifier identifies the application, not the user.
