Terms of Use

Please read these Terms of Use carefully before using the CitiObs PMScan iOS application (the “App”).

1. Acceptance

By downloading, installing or using the App you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

2. Purpose

The App is provided to support collection and upload of air-quality and related environmental observations from compatible PMScan devices to an STAplus service in the CitiObs context. It is intended for citizen-science and research use.

3. AS-IS — no warranty

THE APP AND ALL RELATED DOCUMENTATION, SENSOR DATA, LOCATION DATA AND SERVICES ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE”, WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, COMPLETENESS, TIMELINESS, NON-INFRINGEMENT OR UNINTERRUPTED AVAILABILITY.

Secure Dimensions GmbH does not warrant that:

  • sensor readings are accurate, calibrated or suitable for regulatory, medical or safety decisions;
  • GPS positions are precise or always available;
  • Bluetooth connectivity, authentication or uploads will succeed without interruption;
  • the App will be free of defects, errors or security vulnerabilities.

4. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Secure Dimensions GmbH disclaims all responsibility for any damages or losses arising from the use of, or inability to use, the App, including any action or decision taken on the basis of measurements or other information displayed or uploaded by the App.

5. Your responsibilities

  • Use the App only with devices and accounts you are authorised to use.
  • Comply with applicable laws and with any license you select when uploading data.
  • Do not rely on the App as the sole basis for health, safety or regulatory decisions.
  • Keep your login credentials secure and log out on shared devices.

6. Third-party services

The App depends on third-party services (for example the OIDC identity provider Authenix, Apple platforms, and the STAplus backend). Secure Dimensions GmbH is not responsible for the availability or policies of those services.

7. Changes

These Terms may be updated from time to time. The “Last updated” date in the footer indicates the current version. Continued use of the App after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
